Our Approach to Early Years Development

At Small World Nursery, we are proud to follow the Birth to 5 Matters guidance alongside the Development Matters framework, both of which support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). These trusted frameworks help us create a rich, child-centred learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive at their own pace.

By using these approaches, our experienced team can observe, assess, and plan for each child’s individual needs, interests, and next steps. We focus on supporting development across all key areas—personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

At Small World Nursery, we believe in the importance of strong, caring relationships and a nurturing environment. Our goal is to help every child grow into a confident, curious, and capable learner, ready for the next stage in their journey.
